R-E-S-P-E-C-T

Yes I've developed a new found respect today for the people who work in nail salons.  Hannah was hovering over the city today so it was rainy, cloudy, and all the good stuff that comes along with a Hurricane (shiver).  I really didn't get any sleep the previous night so I was a little tired. I cleaned a little ( heheheh ), had a fit because I couldn't find my passport ( found it EXACTLY where I left it ), cooked chicken burgers to some ungrateful kids ( when I say ungrateful I mean it ) and uploaded some mood music on here.  It was an odd day in a sense where nothing felt real. Anyway while walking bare foot to the kitchen I noticed that my toes looked horrible. I mean there was chipped polish every where so I decided to take care of that.

Brian: In Relation To Our Love

Find Myself In You...

"I was so lonely, though there was so many symbols waiting,
I 'm so glad that this ain't that.
Girl your the reason I can make it through the long, long day and that's a fact.
Baby I can't wait to get next to you; oh I can't wait to wrap my arms around your body.
Baby I can't help but to tell the truth.
Oh, it's so hard to wait till no one else is around.."

Lingual

I have an accent, but I like to think of it as a refined accent. I pronounce all of my words through to the end. There are no dropped letters here. Growing up in a West Indian  household I always thought it was base to speak in third person..instead of "I'm going" its was "Me ah go", or  " I don't know" it was " Me nuh no".  Not to be confused I'm so proud of my heritage and there is something magical about the way we talk because for one it is English but if you're not used to it you won't understand a word of it.   Its like caribbean morse code and I love it. I love reggae music, love soca, love calypso and sing along proudly the music of my heritage.  My point, I've gone nearly 20 years perfecting my accent so that if needed you would never be able to distinguish me from my brothers or sisters and in a manner of hours you've infiltrated and spoiled everything.

Me Belly & Me Batty...

Ick!  I can't stand them.  I'm not an atlethic person at all in fact if there was any classification going on I would be labled as supremely lazy.  I want a magic pill that zap's fat so when me sit down you won't see my crack.  When I was younger I was curvy but fit. I ran track for colgate womens and I was damm good. Now the only run I get is when I pull on the tights to hard.  I went to a track near my house the other morning and nearly dead from the pain, but instead of keeping it up I've laspe back into the old ways.  I've been on a diet since forever and I know a part of my horribleness at times is because as mum puts it " mi ah dead fi hungry".

Goodbyes...

The phone rang and I answered thinking it was someone else.  With a huge grin on my face I pulled into my parking space and the first words out of my mouth were " hi baby".  It wasn’t baby it was you and you became excited I called you baby. I tried to be nice about it but decided to be honest "I didn’t realized it was you" I politely said "I thought it was someone else".

From The Bronx To Europe In 20 Minutes

Who would have thought while living in NYC that a trip to Europe would be as easy as hopping the train. If you jump on the letter A train get off on 190th at the Dyckman street station exit you can enter the south entrance to Fort Tyron Park and step into another world. The Cloisters are hiding there rich with art, music, and history.  Here’s what I got when I took a short day trip. I have ton's more but these were my favorite.

45 Years

They're calling Barack Obama's  speech history making simply because it coincides with one of the most famous speech in history. I wasn't alive to hear "I Have a Dream" live but I know it almost by heart. I know the intentions of the man who made that speech, what he wanted for people from all walks of life.

Peace Nuzizo

The nineteenth-century English poet Gerard Manley Hopkins attempted to reveal what he called "Inscape" - the pattern of distinctive characteristics that constitute the individual essence of a thing. In your daily life take time to pause and absorb the inscape in the people and things you see around you. Try to move beyond superficialities to perceive the uniqueness of each thing. Appreciate this uniqueness as an expression of the spirit.
