One of my moments of reflection...

Transitioning into an environment where there are not very many women and few minorities in "key" positions is an experience...  A poem I wrote a long time ago seems to keep popping up in my thoughts.  So I thought I would share...

I have scraps of paper all over the place.  I have written so much that I had planned to post.  However, between school, children and work, I misplaced many of these scraps...  Here is a poem I wrote in honor of a very positive person in my life...

When I have downtime at work, I like to surf the web…  I came across an article about six young men in Jena, Louisiana who were facing major prison time for a fist fight.  I decided to do some research and found various articles on the incidents that led to the young men’s incarceration.  Jena, Louisiana has some serious OLD school race policies; the OLD South is still thriving!!!
