Money or Love? Which is more important to you??

It appears that our generation is surrounded by divorces and in general, the statistics are increasing on a daily basis.  What do you think keeps a marriage a lasting one?  Money is the major reason for divorces along with infidelity.    With that in mind...should marriage be based solely on love and nothing else?

Marriage/partnership should ideally be based on a number of factors to help increase the likelihood of success.  While it varies from person to person, I think the majority would agree that having similar backgrounds, values, socioeconomic status, and sexual compatibility create pretty good pillars.

I think that it's also imperative for two people in a partnership to be pretty complete on their own so that they are not seeking a companion out of basic needs that have not been met individually (i.e. financial security, emotional support, etc).

However, even with the most ideal relationship, it's still a great deal of work and requires constant nurturing.  You cannot leave a relationship to it's own devices and expect to see it flower through the years.

Great topic for a blog, Amira.

"Money is the major reason for divorces along with infidelity."

unlike the middle east and other places in the world, divorce is an easy thing to get in the US; too easy by some accounts, but i'm all for the power of choice.

i think that any relationship's strength is contingent on the couples strength, wisdom, courage and spirit for making a partnership work. what is the pillar of your relationship? is it money, class, education, sex, physical looks or something else? personally, i think that friendship, communication and respect are the best pillars to build a relationship...sex is passionate and fades over time...attributes like compassion/friendship however, can help a relationship thrive and last.

Money or Love? LOVE ! I imagine myself being very rich and having nobody to love me! It's a nightmare! Concerning marriage or relationships in general, I think the best way to keep them is to claim your partner's love every day. Don't take anything for granted.

CIRCLE OF EXCELLENCE 1.  Imagine an invisible circle on the floor in front of you.  Make it at least threee or four feet in diameter.  Choose a color for the circle that to you represents confidence. 2.  Recall a time when you were very confident, a time when you were capable and a great success at what you were doing.  Re-live that time, seeing what you saw, hearing what you heard, feeling what you felt. 3.  As you feel the confidence build, step into the circle noticing how the feeling of confidence increases as you physically step into the invisible olored circle.  Let yourself be fully aware of how the confidence feels in your body. Look down into the circle and notice the color vibrating with a soft hum that indicates how powerful it is. 4.  Step out of the circle leaving the feelings of confidence inside the circle. 5.  Now think of an upcoming situation when you want to have those feelings of confidence.  Think about what will be there present in your environment just before you want to feel confident.  Perhaps your boss's voice, or a person you want to seduce, or seeing your phone just before you pick it up and make a sales call. 6.  As soon as the cues are clear in your mind, step back into the circle of excellence and feel these confident feelings again. Imagine being in the situation with those confident feelings fully available. 7.  Step out of the circle again, leaving the confident feelings there in the circle.  Now think again about the upcoming event.  Notice how you now have feelings of confidence as a natural response.
