Second life

Are there any Second Life experts out there who know and have tried SL?
I have tried it a couple of times!
How can I explore more of it without getting bored and without reading a book about the subject!
Anybody out there with good or bad experiences in SL?

I heard about second life for a few days ago, and had to try it right away. After a couple of "surfings" inside SL I must admit, I'm tired trying to figure it out.

The directional controls are not as quick and precise as I was hoping.
The program crashes often or simply freezes for some seconds or minuets!

I have only tried it with my laptop- maybe a desktop PC with a more powerful processor will help!!!??
I'm sure there is a lot of documentation out there! But ...I'm a very very lazy reader, so I have not read any kind of instruction yet!
I was hoping the program to be more self-explanatory!
I have not paid anything YET! I wonder if this would open up some more options! da!
Other "people" how were wondering around in SL seemed to know as little as me!!
I've heared so much about SL, and would like to explore it some more!
But I feel like I'm stuck in an area and can’t find my way out!
Are there any SL-experts out there who know and have tried SL?
And how can I explore more of it without getting bored and without reading a book about the subject!
Anybody out there with good or bad experiences?
Thanks in advance!

i have read about second life and the consensus seems to be that one needs to invest some serious time in figuring out how to use the site. most folks either don;t have the time, interest or desire to send hours upon hours trying to make sense of how to use the darn thing. that said, they obviously have their base of hard core users. not sure the site will ever go mainstream though. sorry i wasn't of any help in answering your question ; )

It looks like a game, and definitely feels like a game too.
I agree that it's very very time consuming!

I signed up and spent a half-hour trying to walk around. I got bored and never went back. Yes, cretura, is is similar to sims online.

same here, its to time consuming! I think I musta spent 5 hours there trying to figure out how to move and fly around.

It didn't impress me, and I really don't get what all the rave is about.
