I just finished a great book. some of you may have heard of it or seen the movie or hay have even read it...its called the Hours. It is absolutly amazing. if you have never heard of it or if you have, you need to read it. if you have seen the movie, still read the book it is five times better. it is one of those books that may attract more women than men because it is about women; however, the general message in the novel can be apriciated by men as well. the entire novel is about 3 women in 3 different time periods struggling with their sexuality, curiosity, and daily duties. but it is only about one day in thier lives. somehow, all three woman are intertwined at the end. I started a bit of the book a week ago, but finished the main 200 pages of it today.
it is not a long book...but i promise it is one that not only makes you think, but makes you realize the fraility of life. I strongly urge all of you to read this novel by Micahel Cunningham. i am so much in love with it that i am doing my major research paper on it.
Love Always ~Sally~
PS
this is my favorite quote from the book
"There's just this for consolation: an hour here or there when our lives seem, against all odds and expectations, to burst open and give us everything we've ever imagined, though everyone but children (and perhaps even they) knows these hours will inevitably be followed by others, far darker and more difficult. Still, we cherish the city, the morning; we hope, more than anything, for more".
