We have plan to travel a cross country and looking for a navigation device to buy. But there are different brands and models and it is not easy to decide.
First thing was asking dear uncle Google to get some reviews and comparisons. But having too much resources was also not the best situation and it is getting more complicated and deciding the best is a real challenging position.
After reading reviews I have decided to order Navigon 7100 from Amazon. When we check the specs on the website it was a perfect solution. Nice maps with reality view, free lifetime traffic update etc. etc. and it was a perfect decision until using the device. Ok, nice features but it had lots of problems while calculating roots. Even basic calculations were also not optimal and having problems on navigation feature was the most important part. I called support and they suggested to wait a software update which would be available within 2 weeks. Ok, waited 2 weeks and tested with new software. But it was still not as I expected and main problem was the navigation features and in this situation I decided to send it back.
Nice service from Amazon accepted the device without any problem. And then we visited BestBuy or Circuit City to check other alternatives. After testing the decides we have removed some options and the last two options were Garmin and TomTom devices.
I have ordered now a Garmin Nuvi 660 and will have it Tuesday and looking forward to test it.
But please share your experiences. We are open for any kind of suggestion. :)
