its been a few months since I got here in new jersey.. now I feel like I am sliding backwards..
Yep.. I've been sitting in my $19 walmart chair at my work table for the past 150 hours in the past 10 days. My back's started hurting, my shoulders started shrugging, I am beginning to feel like a Neanderthal (no, not like the civil ones in the geico ad, "I'll have the roast duck with the mango salsa please").
So, I stepped out yesterday to staples and bought me a nice work chair, with all the pull-thingies to adjust every sitting parameter. I put it together and it is.. magnificent. Nice rolling wheels, smooth, nice butt pad, good airy back, all those pull-thingies working, doing a good job. I wheeled it over to my work desk and sat down.. only to start sliding backwards.. like rolling.. gathering speed.. struggled to pull myself back up to the desk.. and .. it starts again.. rolling backwards.. sliding away.. me pulling on the stupid table to keep from sliding.
Well, this apartment really sucks, it has a good slope towards the window where I'm sitting. And the hardwood floors are like a skating rink. So now, like those airplanes have those chock-blocks to stop them from rolling around I have tissues stuffed into the wheels. and I laid down the cardboard from the box to make the floor a bit more friction-y.
At least for the moment I seem to have gathered myself and am not sliding backwards.. that fast.
