A Special Visit

I've been stuck in Baghdad the last two weeks doing nothing and it is driving me bonkers! However, I had the opportunity to go to a local clinic today to visit with the children who were waiting to be seen by the doctor.

The families come into the clinic and receive not only medical treatment, but are provided with formula, diapers, clothes, and clean drinking water. I had a blast with the children. I wanted to share this with all of you, because it isn't anything you'll see in the news!

My Coloring Buddies

The young lad in the picture above was a domino champ!

This gentleman came in and gave everyone a toothbrush and toothpaste and then he taught the children how to brush their teeth and the importance of it.

This little boy was so sweet! He was 4 years old and his name was Yusef....he made me miss my son so much!

You are so right!
This is one of the aspects of the mission that very few people see.
A very close friend of mine is a medic and he would always talk about how much he enjoyed when they went into the surrounding areas and did the medical clinics for the locals.
His favorite story was the teenage boy who thought there was something wrong with him because he wanted to masturbate all the time. :-)
But sometimes we lose sight of the people that are involved at the core of all of this.
Thanks so much for sharing!
