My Birthday!

Yes dear friends, I turned 27 on Saturday, November 10 YAY!!! It was a good day. I spent it in my room watching movies on my laptop and sleeping. Then i read an article and slept some more. Then it was over!!!!! LOL

JUST KIDDING!!!

I had a great time after the reading, movies and sleep! Spent the night at Anneke's cause she lives closer to where the action happens. So I met up with her and we went to Soho to check out this club that Marcus told us about. He was supposed to meet us there but in true Marcus style we waited a good while for him. The club was called PUNK! Now instantly when I heard the name I thought, Rachel would like this, I will not! When we got there the line was long round to the next road and the people, you guessed it very young punk rock looking kids. So me and Anneke decided to move on. Across the street, we came upon The Rocksy! Like the name says it was strictly POP music and some oldies pop too. But we tried it out anyway! i got a little excited when I heard them playing Frankie Lymon! Don't you just love his music. So anyway suffice it to say we were two black girls among a sea of white people. And as you can see from the pics I was not amused. Why do these people feel that its ok for them to make out right beside you. They do it on the street, in the club, on the train during rush hour when its packed like Sardines! UGH!!!! Enough already. Whats worse the gay men do it too, my poor eyes!

Gettin ready!

So when the music got a bit too POP for us, we went to find Marcus and some better entertainment. So the bouncer at the Rocksy (who I suspect is a Yardie) told us about The Cameo, which was just up the street. So we headed there with Marcus finally in tow! This club was good! The Jamaican sound playing was hype and the music was a mix of Dancehall, Hip Hop and Contemporary African Music. Suffice it to say Nuff Dancing Gwaan! I had fun thanks to my two friends and Rachel would be proud of me I actually danced! Noni would be proud cause I did the Crank That dance (Soldier Boy Tell Em).

Freezin my ass off outside the Rocksy!

The Cameo Club...It was packed!

White men can dance!

All in all it was a great night and I will always remember it cause it was my first real club experience in London! The day turned out to be pretty good so I have to give thanks, particularly for my two good friends, Marcus and Anneke! Love you guys!
