Dear All,

I really want to share this with you dear respected friends and members and also I want your feedback what should I do????

I work as a financial Analyst, in asset management in a local investment firm. We were about 6 people as a team in asset management. This firm has not been up to my expectations as an employee. I throw few examples here, there was no bonus at the end of the year, also no training plans for me or any of us except the boss, Head of our unit who is a very powerful guy in the firm, he had it all. Now 3 guys have left work because of such things and got better offers and places to go so they did. I was I don't know call me an idiot hesitant to leave thought if I stick around here I will eventually get what I want.

I was wrong and I can tell you that because When I take a long time to finish work, I am slow but when my boss takes a long time he is thorough and when I don't do it, I am lazy but when my boss does not do it, he is busy. When I do something without being told, I am trying to be smart, when my boss does the same, he takes the initiative. When I make a mistake, I am an idiot but when my boss makes a mistake, he's only human. When I am out of the office, I am wandering around but when he is out of the office, he's on business.  When I do well, my boss never remembers but when I do wrong, he never forgets. People what should I do??? Should I confront him or tell Human resources about this or maybe just leave like the others. I am confused and in need of an advise.

Jazzy I would try to focus on only the positive now! Kill them with positive energy and hard work for a set time. Give it a chance. You stayed so far because you are following your gut. The important thing is don't let anything affect your work performance. If and when this happens then leave right away.  I know many of us have experienced this in some form. It's the way it is when climbing the corporate ladder.  Follow your gut and stay true to yourself.

I don't think you need any advice from anyone here or anywhere. You already know what to do, just re-read what your wrote, the answer is not blowing in the winds but in your thoughts and your sense of right and wrong.  You are looking for the proverbial push out the nest, well you don't need it you've got your god given intuition.

I agree with you, Tam. Sounds like you already know what you want to do, Jazzy. I've been in the corporate environment for years, and the one thing I know that works is doing what best suits you. If you find it, go for it. You are a smart guy, and I'm sure you've got the skills to find another job. There's nothing wrong for you to reach for your goals in another place. It's not uncommon for people to change jobs for better pay, a better environment, location, etc. Just listen to your heart and follow it! Good luck...insha Allah alf kheir!

Too often we ignore our gut instincts, but we should remember it's trying to tell us what is right for us. So listen to your inner self and do what you need to do. You'll be ok.

Thank you so much friends, I have decided to leave my current job, I had an interview last week with a great firm and it looks like I am moving on. This current job and especially this boss has put so much pressure on me and my life too. It is good to know it is history now. Will be with the new firm Nov. 13th as my first day.
