I came across the turtle pic below and my mind started to think about living a life that is physically shared/attached with that of another. I find myself conflicted when seeing genetic mutations that result in abnormalities. On the one hand, i am amazed at the possibilities for what can be created, but I also find myself concerned about how it may negatively impact ones life. The latter of the two usually weighs more heavily on me...
Life must be much more difficult for two headed humans, not only in carrying out daily tasks, but also in dealing with a society that is often critical/merciless towards abnormalities and fear of the unusual. I wonder on what levels, different species experience the same practical and social hardships. At a minimum, I suspect that it impacts their mating and reproductive abilities.
Writing this blog is a good reminder for me to not let my discomfort with the situation, prevent me from treating differently people/animals that deviate from the norm.
