I do not think that Obama is going to talk to a government which wants to push Israel into the Mediterranean.

We used to believe US foreign affairs didn’t change much as each administration finished a term. All of that changed in last years both on the Iranian and American side (Khatami/Ahmadinejad and Clinton/Bush)… even slamming on the breaks from head on confrontation means improving relations with Iran. Excluding the "governments", both Iranians and Americans would get along and want dialog in peace.

Obama vows to stop Iran from having nuclear arms"The danger from Iran is grave, it is real, and my goal will be to eliminate this threat," Obama said in a speech to a conference of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, a pro-Israel lobby group.

I think with the speech on Israel he gave on June 4th he was trying to gain votes from the Jewish voters... I do believe that he intends to have direct talks with Iran and rebuild a better relationship with Iran....
