Well now, in the short-term future I would want it to be after the presidential election in the US to find out who takes over and fixes the mess Bush made and left.  Beyond that I would want to meet my future self, finally happy and finally having attained the goals I'm struggling to attain now; I need to know if my efforts, sacrifice and loneliness has been worth it - otherwise I will be looking to come back and get a "do over"

That's a tough one. Thinking about the future can be exciting and a little depressing. I am always watching shows on discovery about space exploration and modern science and its hard to accept that I will not be around for a lot of the answers to our questions. So, to answer the question, I would love to be around at the point where we can travel into space. I just can't imagine the feeling of seeing Earth from afar. Either that, or being around at the time when we finally create a society where we are in balance with our host (Earth) and contribute instead of abuse it.
