The pormise of God are true,so we can trust His Word;To rest in what He's promise us Gives honor to our Lord.
A young man was rebelling against his parents .When lost his job and his girlfriend,he complained that God was being unfair.He didn't think the Lord was giving him help He promised.What he didn't realize was that Jesus promised a sense of His love and presence only to those who keep His commandments.God was pleased when Solomon valued "an understanding heart" over wealth,honor,and long life.So He promise Solomon those blessings in additon wisdom he requested.But Solomon was twenty when he became a King,died relatively at the age of sixty.What happened to the promise of long life?Remember,a condition was connected to it::"if you walk in My ways"Because Solomon "didn't fully follow the Lord",God did not gave him long life.
If you are God's child by faith in His Son,He has promise never to leave you nor forsake you.Yet you can expect his loving discipline if you disobey Him.In such times you can turn to His promise to forgive when you confess your sin.Hold on to God's promises,but don't twist them --H. V.L.
