The book for June is Behind the Veil by Suzetta Perkins
The book for this meeting was No Country for Old Men by Cormac McCarthy
This was a good book. Graphic, but good. There were varying opinions of the book, but everyone agreed that the book is quite graphic. As we discussed the book, the meeting became a debate of "what would you do?".
You "stumble" upon a scene that is obviously a drug deal gone bad. There are dead bodies everywhere and a significant amount of heroin in the back seat of one of the vehicles. There is also a case with 2.5 million dollars in it. Everyone is basically dead and no one will ever know you have been there...
What would you do? Would you take the drugs and money? Would you just take the money? Would you call 911?
Questions:
1. Do you feel this book is too graphic?
2. Would you keep the money?
3. How do you feel about the sheriff?
4. Would you kill the wife?
5. What is your life worth? How much are you willing to risk?
6. Was greed the contributing downfall in the book?
7. Would you have done anything different?
