Colors of Religion

Posted by kiakam on Wednesday, August 22, 06:53 PM

The most prominent colour concept in Buddhism is that of the rainbow body, which is the highest level of meditative achievement wherein the body is transformed into pure light. The rainbow body is the highest achievement other than Nirvana, which is the essential end-goal for Buddhists. Since the “pure light” on the spectrum contains all colors, and is white, to possess a rainbow body means to possess all colors, and to do some means meditating on colors that embody specific teachings.

Hi
I don't know if its the place where I can ask questions about Greek Orthodox religion..although I'm Greek and raised as Orthodox myself, beside being the only deaf..sometimes I felt frustrated because most of my life I've been exposed to the church but without an interpreter until near adult life..and still learning much more, yet still feel Orthodox in my heart with my grandma taking me to church for many years when young. I also want to raise my first child in Orthodox and when it come to baptizing my child, I would be asked why I want to baptized my child, I thought of an answer would be giving my child to the Lord and to be cleansed from sin (I know my baby is not capable of committing sin or aware of God but in time when my child make choices time will tell.) So as a parent myself it's my job to raise him as Orthodox (beside godparent or sponsor who are also Orthodox too). Other Bible forum said I'm doing it for wrong reason. Am I?? Sometimes I feel like screaming in one's ear beside being thrown in series of research and books about difference between Greek Orthodox..its Bibles and other texts...I know this church recognizes it as part of Sacrament but other Faith says baptism is NOT a Sacrament. Now what???

Really? So are you saying that my answer is from my heart, not by what others expect or to consider whether my answer is correct or not. Okay many thanks! -Vivi

I try to answer the best. The meaning of God is very broaden or come in many ways. In particular concept, as to me, God is Supreme Being, "ruler of universe" or High Power, or the Creator who does the miracles, powers, wisdom, goodness.. It's not like God should be seen other than in holy and spiritual meanings, he's everywhere, and my religion is Eastern Greek Orthodox.

XenaFury,

PEACE.

How do you think you'd feel if when your child was older, he choose to express his faith in some way other than Greek Orthodox?

(*Knocking on wood*)
I thought about it and as long as I live, my child  would be surrounded by loving families where many occassions in Greek Orthodox are celebrated and I'm sure he won't forget where he's from. I'll see about that and I'll be the judge of that. Important my child knows I'll be there for him.
