Engagement to Marriage

Since I really haven't been engaged for so long......

I am wondering how long do you think a person should be engaged before getting married? In my first marriage; I was only engaged for 5 months and this one haven't been that long either but at the same time; this relationship is much different than my last relationship or my 1st marriage. Knowing that each relationship is different; I keep wondering how long do any of you think that a person should be engaged before getting married.

I have to agree with tristatewriter...

I've been married twice. First time engaged for around six months. Didn't work out. Second time, around 2 years, still ended in divorce. So it seems time is not relevant.

You have to do what feels right in your heart.

i do not think there is a limit to how long u should be engaged. it should depend on how well u know each other. do u know enough to spend the rest of your lives together. i think u know when u have foudn the right one. my opinion.
